Forrest Fenn, Home of Brown, and the Grail Legend

If this is the case, then in order for us to find this home of Brown we follow the rest of the clues to get there. Can anyone think of times Jack's been caught, dead to... I think you're onto something and personally have always been very curious about the border of Colorado / New Mexico.

Now I don’t mean to suggest I think it is hidden there , but just that one meaning for home of Brown could originate from there. Because Fenn is an ardent angler, some treasure hunters have interpreted "home of Brown" in the poem to allude to trout waters. Mary Caperton Morton is responsible for both images. "The Rocky Mountains north of Santa Fe" covers a lot of ground. However, if you look closely at the painting, you can make out New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.

🙂 I think Mr. Loeffler has an infectious laugh. Forrest is the only other person alive who knows what that means. But in order for EVERYTHING I have planned to work out right….I have to bide my time. I will never make it out there so I will share my information.

Realize, I’m just sharing thoughts on a never-ending journey. It has been awhile since I have posted specific thoughts concerning Forrest Fenn’s Thrill of the Chase. That is not to say I have forgotten about it or haven’t been working on trying to discern the location of the chest. It, along with others, like Maranatha, Beale, Fandango, Kryptos, etc., are constantly passing through my mind and I’m not sure I will ever be able to get any of them out of mind; even if solved.

Everyone thinks that if they figure this out then they will have found the treasure but I don’t think this is the case. The poem doesn’t end there so why are people assuming that the search does. Just because it says “put in” doesn’t mean that Fenn was referring to the treasure. After this he refers to a creek, heavy loads and high water. I haven’t really decided what he refers to buy it could be a kayak or canoe or he could be referring to himself.

They used canoes, until 1826 when the first steamboat came to town. Furthermore, the location specified in the poem has been disputed since its publication in 1831. Some claim it is near Denver while others point toward Salt Lake City or even Idaho. The only certainty is that it is far from Fenn's home in Kentucky.

Historical Player Information

Well, since no one has found the treasure, and IF the home of Brown is the location of the treasure, then the only way to get more than the first few clues right is if they find the treasure. You get to near the end of the creek, and there should be a cave. To get back to the start requires you to go upstream. “Below the home of Brown” is the hardest clue. The idea that this might have to do with Charlie Brown came from Doc on the Tweleve website. Charles Schultz, the creator of Peanuts, lived in Colorado Springs.

Mountain Home, AR was one of the state's original water resorts and retirement communities, with major features including fishing, water sports, outdoor leisure, shopping, and eating. Local golfing, historic sites, and natural beauty also draw visitors to the region. Consider that “Home” could be an actual physical home or residence. This would be very specific and particularly handy if you knew the correct one, such as Ranger Brown’s house in YNP. Another suggested “Home” has been a cave for brown bats, not nearly as specific as the Ranger’s house, but still could start you in a smallish area, or possibly a particular cave. However, “Home” can also refer to a town, state, or even country for that matter.

The Treasure is “In The Middle” – between Two Routes .. The merged creek is Forrest and Peggy walking together .. But the Treasure is off, a little space away from the River (Peggy – she understands when I need space to be alone) .. These brown trout populations spread out into the river and began to have a big impact on the endangered humpback chub population at the mouth of the Little Colorado River. In the early 2000s an extensive electrofishing effort was made by a host of agencies in order to reduce that particular brown trout population. Between 1984 and 2013, rainbow trout comprised about 97% of the fish population between the dam and the Paria River Riffle while brown trout only comprised about 2%.

Following her death, a novelist by the name of Caroline Bancroft wrote “The Unsinkable Mrs. Brown” which was a partially fictional, romanticized version of Brown’s life that overtime was treated as a biography. This was also where the term “Unsinkable Molly Brown” originated (Margaret was never actually referred to as “Molly” in life and the title did not arise until after her passing). In the James Cameron film Titanic Margaret was played by actress Kathy Bates, but despite Bate’s phenomenal portrayal of Brown, almost everything that made Margaret so heroic in reality was removed from the film.

Perhaps someone has already asked this, but I’ve not found an answer yet posted or video recording that contains an answer. Forgive me if this is redundant, but were both trips made on the same day/date? Not to be anal, but that would be one spinaroo of the giant ball we call Earth that constitutes a single 24-hour day to its humble inhabitants. I don’t know where the chest is, …..if I did we wouldn’t be talking.

I also believe that his words “home of Brown” aren’t as literal as we think due to him revealing “There are several people that have deciphered the first two clues. The Colorado River below Glen Canyon Dam is home to native fish species like flannelmouth and bluehead suckers. Two endangered fish species, razorback sucker and humpback chub, can also be found in the Marble and Grand Canyon stretches of the river. Native fish are highly susceptible to predation by fish eating predators like brown trout. As brown trout grow, they begin to feed heavily on other fish species. As sub-adults and adults brown trout are 17-times more likely to eat other fish than are rainbow trout.
